Verner Panton’s 271F, designed in the 50s and built by August Sommer for Thonet. Bent wood in a form that sits somewhere between armchair and sculpture. Laminated and lacquered in red, held together by metal connections and screws in plain sight. Nothing is concealed. The lacquer has aged with the chair. It has chipped along the edges and an earlier layer shows through in places. We would not touch it.
